DC Action for Children

DC Action for Children is a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, dedicated to breaking down structural barriers that hinder the full potential of all children. Through research, data analysis, and a racial equity lens, they strive to create a safe, resilient, powerful, and inclusive environment for children to grow up in. DC Action leads collaborative advocacy campaigns and houses various coalitions and initiatives focused on early childhood education, youth economic justice, housing, and more.

With a commitment to addressing systemic racism and sexism, DC Action works towards achieving pay equity for early childhood educators, who are predominantly Black and brown women, through their Pay Equity Fund. They also provide a platform for young people and residents to raise their voices and drive change in the District of Columbia. As the home of DC Kids Count, Under 3 DC, DC Out-of-School Time Coalition, the DC Home Visiting Council, and the Youth Economic Justice and Housing Coalition, DC Action for Children plays a vital role in advocating for policies and solutions that tackle the root causes of inequality and empower children to reach their full potential.
