Established in 1985, HBCS is a nonprofit organization that provides hospital billing and collection services for health care organizations. It serves over 60 hospitals throughout the United States. The organization maintains a staff of nearly 370 trained professionals. HBCS offers a range of receivable management solutions that includes third-party and self-pay billing, insurance follow-up and bad debt collections. It uses advanced technology solutions to increase productivity and collections for clients. The organization provides immediate cash infusion and liquidity and cash position services. It also offers a variety of interim business office staffing solutions, such as denial management and supervisory. The organization additionally provides insurance identification, charity care application and payment plan monitoring services. HBCS clients include the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Presbyterian Healthcare System.
