F. W. Woolworth Building

The F. W. Woolworth Company Building in downtown Wilmington, Delaware, is a historic department store building that operated from 1940 to 1997 as one of the last Woolworth stores. Designed in art deco style by architect H. W. Stakes, the building features a distinctive facade with peach and cream vertical stripes of terra cotta tile and lotus motifs. After housing a Happy Harry's drug store, the building was purchased by a subsidiary of BPG Property Group in 2008 and now operates as a Walgreens location.
