Established in 1961, the Evan G. Shortlidge Academy is a learning center that is a part of the Red Clay Consolidated School District. The school enrolls more than 420 students in kindergarten through grade five. It provides Title 1, special education, and gifted and talented education programs. The school also conducts classes in integrated arts and instrumental music. The Evan G. Shortlidge Academy s staff includes intervention specialists, psychologists, diagnosticians, guidance counselors, paraprofessionals, nurses, and speech and occupational therapists.
