The Philadelphia Department of Commerce works to help new and existing businesses who want to expand in Philadelphia. It issues business licenses and permits, searches for land and buildings for expansion, and provides financial assistance to small-size businesses. The department operates a business action team that helps to identify a variety of job training, placement and assistance programs. The Philadelphia Department of Commerce supports Philadelphia Workforce Development Corporation, which is a private, nonprofit organization that offers employment and training programs and provides companies with recruitment and referral services. It also offers a neighborhood-based economic development program that encourages revitalization, increases economic investment and creates employment in neighborhoods. The department additionally applies planning and data analysis to strengthen neighborhood marketplaces, aligns and leverages resources and investments on corridors, develops a system to attract and retain businesses and supports corridor management.

This Authority maintains the public sewer and water service in Monroe Township. The Authority Business office is located at 372 South Main Street. We are open 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Friday. We do have a 24 hour emergency service that will contact our employee on emergency duty. Our facilities, including our water supply, wells, tanks and lift stations have always been properly secured. All Authority Personnel have official picture identification badges reflecting their name, and the telephone number of our facility. Its debt service and operational expenses must be paid by the revenue from customer service fees. For your information the Authority is governed by a five member Board. On an annual basis the Township Council appoints or reappoints a member to serve a five-year term. Our present Board members are: Mike Milam, Chairman ; Joseph DiLolle, Jr., Vice-Chairman ; Robert Simone, Assistant Treasurer ; Dominic Mercurio, Alternate Board Member, Nicholas Pileggi, Treasurer ; Hank Calloway, Secretary. Authority meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at the Authority Office, and the PUBLIC IS WELCOME. Our Operations and Administrative Staff take pride in maintaining a safe, healthy water system and sewerage collection system.
