Washington Montessori School

Washington Montessori School is an independent, coeducational institution that serves more than 280 students in prekindergarten through grade eight. Established in 1965, the school offers instruction in Spanish, Latin, technology education and life skills. It provides speech and language therapies for students with special needs. The school also supports activities, such as art, music, and physical education. Washington Montessori School offers enrichment classes in cooking and yoga. The school additionally provides a range of sports activities that includes soccer, basketball, tennis, softball and cross country. It operates a parents association that raises funds and sponsors events, including book fairs and kid expos. The school features a theater, gymnasium, library and media center and playgrounds. Located in New Preston, Conn., the school conducts tutorial sessions and offers before- and after-school care. Washington Montessori School is accredited by the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools.
