Vijay V. Desai, MD

Dr. Magge is a board-certified gastroenterologist. She sees patients ages 18 and older,ξand treats a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions including Crohn_x2019_s disease and ulcerative colitis, functional bowel diseases including irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, liver diseaseξand special gastroenterological issues facing women. She performs colonoscopiesξfor colon cancer screening in addition to upper endoscopies. She also specializes in esophageal disorders including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and esophageal motility disorders such as achalasia. She performs esophageal pH monitoring and esophageal manometry to aid in the diagnosis and management of esophageal disorders. She also performs small intestinal capsule endoscopy for evaluation of obscure and occult gastrointestinal bleeding.

Christine O’Connor, MSN, FNP is a board-certified nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Georgetown University in 2010 and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Columbia University in 2015. She has been working in oncology for 12 years and has a special interest in hematologic malignancies. Christine believes in the importance of caring for the whole person, and not just treating the disease. She has a passion for patient education and is known for supporting patients through the side effects and complications associated with cancer treatment. In her free time, she loves playing golf, traveling and spending time with her husband and her 1-year-old daughter.

Lisa Phuong, DO, holds a board certification in Internal Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut, she then continued on completing her fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. Dr. Phuong's clinical and research interest is focused on breast malignancies. She has had several peer-reviewed articles and abstracts published, as well as poster presentations at national cancer conferences. She most recently conducted research analyzing the correlation between cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 inhibitors and body composition in women with metastatic breast cancer. Dr. Phuong is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
