HistoryMatrushka started out on the 2nd floor of a house on Main Street selling high-quality art materials, beautiful wooden toys from Germany, and a hand-picked selection of fabulous childrens books . Over the years the selection expanded to include toys for all ages, and hand-crafted items made by artists and small crafters in the USA. In August of 2009 the store moved to its current street-level location and expanded further to provide natural baby toys and gifts, clothing, and larger wooden furniture items such as play kitchens and tables and chairs. The new space has also provided the opportunity for free community events, such as puppet shows and story hours for children.SpecialtiesMatrushka has a unique selection of high-quality toys that spark a child's imagination, are made of natural materials and built to last. It also has classic toys that are child-powered and help to build skills and promote active play. The new spacious location has ample room for the beautiful, organic baby gifts and clothing, fairy tale mobiles, and classic books.
