Irving School
Founded in 1953, Irving School serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The school s academic curriculum includes a variety of subjects, such as math, language arts, social studies, physical education, science, instrumental and vocal music, drama, art, computer literacy and vocational arts. It encourages students to participate in a range of extracurricular activities and sports. Irving School offers several clubs, a band and student council. Its sports activities include football, softball, wrestling, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, baseball, and track and field. In addition, Irving School operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising activities and book fairs. Located in Derby, Conn., the school is a part of Derby Public Schools.
