Anna I. Koulova
Anna Koulova, MD, is a cardiologist with Stamford Health. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the heart and cardiovascular system. After studying biology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, she earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla. Dr. Koulova completed an internal medicine residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s West Program. She was a cardiovascular disease fellow at Westchester Medical Center. Dr. Koulova has been involved in a myriad of research projects involving hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension and cardiac MRI. She has published articles in JACC: Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, and Journal of Thoracic Disease. She has also presented her research at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) annual meetings. Her special interests include the use of advanced imaging techniques to see and evaluate the function of the heart. Frantz C. Hastrup
Frantz C. Hastrup, MD, is a pulmonologist who provides expert care for patients with breathing issues and other conditions that affect the lungs and respiratory system. Dr. Hastrup specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine and has a keen interest in asthma, ultrasound and bronchial thermoplasty – a procedure that delivers thermal energy to the airways of the lungs to decrease smooth muscle and reduce the frequency of asthma attacks. During his undergraduate years, Dr. Hastrup studied at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Afterward, he earned his medical degree from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, now Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Hastrup completed a residency at Boston Medical Center and a fellowship at Harvard Medical School, where he focused on pulmonary and critical care medicine. As a pulmonary and critical care specialist, Dr. Hastrup offers advanced diagnostics and innovative treatments to help his patients feel better, breath more easily and sleep well. He performs pulmonary function testing to measure lung capacity and a patient’s ability to move air in and out of the lungs. He also helps patients find solutions to improve the sleep cycle and reverse sleep-related disruption, such as sleep apnea, severe snoring, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome. During his free time, Dr. Hastrup loves to cook and considers himself an avid “foodie.”
