Simsbury Volunteer Fire Department, Bushy Hill Station
The Bushy Hill Station of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Department is located at 345 Bushy Hill Road in Simsbury, CT. Erected in 1989, this station features three drive-through apparatus bays, a training classroom, day room, Captain's office, fully-equipped kitchen, shower facilities, and an emergency stand-by generator.
The original station, built in 1952 to 1953, still stands just south of the current building. It underwent major renovations in 1968 and 1989 to accommodate larger apparatus bays, expand living quarters, and house the Fire District's maintenance division. The regular apparatus assignment for Bushy Hill Station includes Engine 2, Rescue 14, and Utility 10.
