Mt. Misery

The hill apparently got its name because the rocky land in the area created miserable conditions for farmers. On the Nehantic and Pachaug trails, as well as a terminus of the Yawgoog Mount Misery hike. Parking is available at the base of the hill on Firetower Road -- just west of the summit.

Beach Pond

The pond is on the blue-blazed Pachaug Trail and the yellow-blazed Tippecansett Trail. Parking is available at the former beach; swimming is prohibited.
