About MicroCare This is the official home page of MicroCare Corporation, a leader in the world of precision cleaning, coating and lubricating. MicroCare Corporation is a privately-held corporation based in New Britain, Connecticut, USA, about 100 miles/150 km northeast of New York City. MicroCare was established in 1983 to meet the demands of industry for precision cleaning systems for the benchtop. The two founders of MicroCare are Christopher A. Jones and Peter E. Clapp ( photo, left, with long-time friend and board member John Farris on the far right ). In 1982 Mr. Jones operated a chemical distribution company that served southern New England, R. M. Jones & Co., Inc Similarly, Mr. Clapp operated Creative Products, Inc, a New Haven-based aerosol company that fills private-label aerosols for the food industry. From time to time, Creative Products purchased products from R. M. Jones & Co. During the normal process of sales and support, Mr. Jones and Mr. Clapp discovered that each firm could help the other develop a new line of aerosols sprays for cleaning electronics. Mr. Clapp would provide the aerosol filling expertise ; Mr. Jones would manage the sales, and between the two experts the proposed company, MicroCare, would flourish. The net result was that Micro Care was founded in 1982 and incorporated in Connecticut in 1983. First year sales were a scant $60, 000. High-pressure aerosols clean fairly effectively, but only by using an extravagant amount of solvent to do the job. In addition, as the world has become less trusting of authority, technicians have become more suspicious of the cleaners and their possible long-term health effects. Therefore, minimizing exposures to these chemicals became an objective of many firms. To satisfy these needs, MicroCare invented and patented the "Trigger Grip'" dispensing system, which is featured throughout this web site. The Trigger Grip system reduces the amount of solvent used during cleaning, and minimizes the labor required to clean, both of which saves money. Subsequently, it was learned that the system also improves the quality of the cleaning which means the electronic assembly will last longer and perform better. Over the years a variety of other important products were developed at MicroCare, all of which results in a safer worker place, a healthier planet and reduced manufacturing costs. In short, MicroCare offers proprietary products that provide important money-saving benefits to end-users. Today MicroCare is a dynamic, fast-moving team with hundreds of distributors world-wide, twenty regional sales representatives and a lean but talented headquarters staff. Overall sales have increased steadily for more than a decade, with growth averaging better than 20% annually.
