Plaza Service Center Inc - Who We Are Plaza Service Center Inc began as the Plaza Shell gas station below the Rt.68 overpass on Rt.5 in Wallingford, CT. The owner, Tim Clark, opened the business in 1990 and was the only employee. He was the mechanic, tow truck driver, gas pump operator, owner and operator. He purchased a 1978 Ford Wrecker to which he later added a wheel lift. He painted it himself and maintained it through the years in the 3 bay building. Tim juggled the work himself until the business began to grow. He began hiring technicians, tow truck drivers, and gas pump attendants. Over the next 8 years, the business out grew the building, and we were forced to move. In July of 1998, we moved the business down the road and into another, larger building. At that time, we changed the business name to Plaza Service Center Inc We upgraded to a 7 bay shop in the same building as a glass company and an auto body shop. A few years later, the body shop closed down, and we took over another 4 bays. We left the shop as it was and expanded Plaza Service Center Inc to include auto body repair. Soon after this, the glass company moved out to a bigger building, and we gained an additional 2 bays, bringing us to a grand total of 13 bays. We took these two bays and combined them with the body shop to enlarge the space available for auto body work. We soon upgraded the body shop and purchased a State of the Art Downdraft Spraybooth to increase the quality of our work. We have also recently become an authorized Boss Snowplow Dealer. We sell plows and plow accessories as well as maintain, service, and repair them. Since we opened our doors in 1990, Plaza Service Center Inc has expanded exponentially. We now have 26 employees including 1 owner/operator, 12 AAA and TRPC (Towing and Recovery Professionals of Connecticut ) certified wrecker drivers, 7 NAPA, AAA, ASE, MACS (Mobile Air Conditioning Service ) and Standard Motor Products certified service technicians, 4 DuPont AOQ certified body technicians, a service manager, a body shop manager, and 2 receptionists. Plaza Cervice Center Inc now owns a fleet of 16 wreckers that are capable of vehicle towing and recovery in any situation. We tow and recover light duty, medium duty, heavy duty, advanced heavy duty, and perform air cushion recovery. We have also attained many certifications from renowned companies. Our certifications are as follows:
