The Oliver Ellsworth Homestead, also known as Elmwood, is a historic house museum located in Windsor, Connecticut. Built in 1781, it was the home of Oliver Ellsworth, a prominent American lawyer and politician who played a significant role in drafting the United States Constitution. Designated as a National Historic Landmark, the museum is owned and operated by the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution, offering tours upon request.

This 2.5-story wood frame structure features a clapboarded exterior and retains its late 19th-century interior furnishings and decorative materials associated with the Ellsworth family. The house, along with a meeting hall on the property, was restored in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Elmwood, with its rich historical significance and charming architecture, provides visitors with a glimpse into the life and legacy of Oliver Ellsworth and his contributions to American history.

LOVE this historic homestead! The women giving the tour were very knowledgeable, and anxious to share their knowledge of history.

I am sure this is a nice little historic museum, but those responsible for running it need to work on being open when they say they'll be open. So call ahead to verify that the museum has someone...
