Old Saybrook Fire Department

The Exeter Volunteer Fire Department 1 protects more than 5,000 people living within an area of over 30 square miles in Exeter, R.I . It offers vehicle extrication, fire prevention, and search and rescue services. It responds to more than 200 service calls each year. The department maintains a fleet of engines, tankers, ladder trucks, brush units and a minipumper. The Exeter Volunteer Fire Department 1 conducts rope rescue and basic emergency medical training classes. It also organizes advanced level training workshops through the help of the Rhode Island Fire Academy.
