The New London County Historical Society (NLCHS), founded in 1870, is the oldest historical organization in eastern Connecticut and has been headquartered in the historic Shaw Mansion since 1907. NLCHS is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of New London County through tours, educational programs, and community events.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, NLCHS relies on the support of its members and the generosity of individuals and corporations to sustain its operations and programs. The society invites the community to explore its extensive collections, participate in events, and appreciate the historical significance of the region.
