Founded in 1883, the New Britain YMCA caters to basic human needs and protects young adults. The organization employs more than 100 staff members and serves people of various social, racial, economic and religious lines. Its fitness complex spreads across an area of over 2,400 square feet and houses various exercise equipment and machines. The New Britain YMCA has a swimming pool, gymnasium, meeting rooms, and racquetball and squash courts. In addition, the organization provides locker rooms, as well as child care and rehabilitative services. The New Britain YMCA administers the Youth Succeeding Under Pressure (Y.S.U.P.) program and organizes several events. It is a part of the YMCA of New Britain-Berlin.
