Easy to get to off exit 88 on I-95. Good parking. Nice owner who takes interest in parents and kids. Attentive staff and decent horses. Good facility in summer and winter. Nice show calendar....

Nestled on 172 acres of fields and woodlands in Gales Ferry, Conn., Mystic Valley Hunt Club has been serving recreational and serious competitive riders since 1983. Our family owned and operated facility is the largest in Southeastern Connecticut. Our facilities include two indoor arenas - one with "no-freeze" winter footing - and four outdoor sand arenas, one grass hunt course and a two-level, cross-country course. Our 60 stalls are all equipped with fire alarms and sprinkler systems. Riders competing in shows hosted at Mystic Valley Hunt Club gain points based on placement in the identified Divisions and Classes. Points are tallied over the course of the show season and are awarded ONLY for competitions at Mystic Valley Hunt Club. We also offer a summer day camp designed to teach girls and boys ages 7 to 16, whether they are a beginner, intermediate or advanced rider. The staff and students helpers are awesome. My four year old daughter is made at home here. She is given great instruction on the english style of riding, and the price for lessons are reasonable....

Very expensive, I wouldn't recommend to someone that just wanted to ride casually or for fun. The competitive aspect at MVHC on the other hand is unparalleled and I've had only GREAT experiences...
