I teach astronomy on a boat, in the wide open ocean, out under the countless stars. We cruise out into the middle of Cape Cod Bay away from all the lights where the skies are very dark. You will see thousands of more stars, a lot more meteors, and the Milky Way in vivid detail, meandering across the sky! The cruise departs at 9 pm and returns at 12 am. This is a ferry size boat. When the boat comes to a stop, everyone gathers on the open top deck and I use a light pointer and intercom system to trace out the constellations, discuss giant red stars, nebula, and more!
