Macdonough Family Resource Center

Established in 1924, Commodore Macdonough Elementary School serves more than 200 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school teaches various subjects, including math, science, social studies, art, reading and writing, speech and language, physical education, music and language arts. It has a library media center that houses a collection of databases, magazines, journals and newspapers. Commodore Macdonough Elementary School offers English as a Second Language and special education programs. The school employs subject teachers, speech therapists, counselors, literacy coaches and nurses. It operates a parent-teacher association that organizes various recreational activities and conferences. Commodore Macdonough Elementary School is a part of Middletown Public Schools.
