Lower Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments
The Lower Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments (RiverCOG) serves as a collaborative platform for the seventeen municipalities in the Lower Connecticut River Valley region. It focuses on regional transportation, land use, emergency preparedness planning, and the promotion of shared municipal services to address common challenges and foster economic development.
As a federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and a state-designated Regional Planning Organization (RPO), RiverCOG is committed to preserving the area's character and green spaces while enhancing its environmental and economic value. The organization facilitates coordinated planning efforts and oversees the implementation of the Regional Plan of Conservation and Development through its Regional Planning Committee.
