Lost Acres Fire Department

The Lost Acres Fire Department (LAFD) in Granby, Connecticut, was founded on June 1, 1936, by Horace B. Clark and has been dedicated to providing fire and rescue services to the community for over 75 years. Initially serving East Hartland, the department shifted its focus to Granby, where it has since grown to operate three stations and specializes in various training and emergency responses.

With a rich history, the LAFD prides itself on maintaining its original 1921 Reo Speedwagon pumper truck, which has become a symbol of the department's heritage. As an active volunteer organization, the LAFD continually seeks new members and remains committed to protecting the lives and property of Granby's residents through extensive training and regional collaboration.
