Located in New London, Conn., the Superior Court works under the state of Connecticut and handles cases related to civil, criminal, family and juvenile matters. It maintains a civil division that hears cases to protect civil, personal and property rights, such as automobile or personal accidents, landlord-tenant disputes, product or professional liability disputes and disputed contracts. The court s criminal division undertakes cases related to felonies, misdemeanors, violations and infractions. The Superior Court also has a family division that hears cases involving juveniles and family relationships, such as divorce, child custody and support, relief from abuse, juvenile delinquency, child abuse and neglect and the termination of parental rights.
