Dr. Jenkins first opened his practice in 1995, on Main Street in Kent, CT. During those first years, Dr. Jenkins also enrolled in several years of postgraduate studies, culminating in board certifications in Clinical Nutrition and Medical Acupuncture.

Dr. Avery Jenkins has been providing primary care alternative medicine to the residents of Litchfield County for over 15 years. He is one of a handful of doctors in the country who not only holds a primary professional degree in alternative medicine (Doctor of Chiropractic) but is also a board certified specialist in acupuncture as well as clinical nutrition and herbal therapy. At the Center for Alternative Medicine, a full-service ambulatory outpatient facility in Litchfield, Dr. Jenkins and his staff combine state-of-the-art diagnostics with traditional therapeutics to help patients regain their health -- even after years of illness.
