Hunters Ambulance Service

Hunter's Ambulance Service has provided Central and Eastern Connecticut with patient care and transportation services. With a staff of more than 450 trained professionals, Hunter meets the varied transportation and pre-hospital patient care needs of individuals and communities. Vern Hunter and his wife Barbara founded Hunter s Ambulance Service in 1963. Hunter's boasts non-emergency medical transport services, special needs school transportation and a full line of corporate and leisure limousine services. Hunter operates in an 11,000 square-foot fleet maintenance and training center located in Meriden, Conn. The first floor houses the company s vehicle maintenance center, including a full time staff of five mechanics with capabilities in emergency vehicle repair and maintenance. The Marketing and Quality Assurance Departments, Explorer Post as well as a 1,800 square-foot training room are found on the second floor.
