Highland Elementary School

Located in Wallingford, Conn., Highland Elementary School educates more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade five. It provides educational opportunities for the development of academic, social and career skills. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as art, music, physical education, math, reading, science and social studies. It runs a character education program, Kids with Character. The school s media center has a collection of more than 10,000 materials, including fiction and nonfiction books, audiobooks, reference materials, videos, DVDs, periodicals and teaching resources. It has a parent-teacher organization that sponsors several events throughout the year, including field days, art shows, fundraising activities, and canned food and blood drives. Highland Elementary School is a part of Wallingford Public Schools, which administers several elementary, middle and high schools.
