Hartford's Proud Drill, Drum & Dance Corp is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 by Terry and Duffy Starks. Their mission is to integrate sound, movement, and artistry in the overall development of young people, providing them with bigger and greater opportunities to excel academically, socially, and artistically throughout their lives. Through their year-round programs, they aim to keep kids off the streets, build healthy relationships between youth and law enforcement, and provide young people with an outlet to meet their basic needs and develop the competencies necessary for success.

Hartford's Proud takes a unique and proactive approach to engage youth within their communities in a productive, constructive, and fun manner. They focus on violence prevention, homework support, and positive outcomes, while incorporating the best practices for positive youth development, including art and music education. As an advocate for youth and leadership development, Hartford's Proud also supports advocacy movements such as the Women's March, March for our Lives, and Climate Change March.
