Happy Landings Open Space is a picturesque town-owned parcel of protected open space located in Brookfield, CT. Situated along Whisconier Road (Route 25), this serene landscape has retained its natural beauty since before the Revolutionary War, making it a cherished symbol of the town's rural character. The historic windmills and fields, dating back to the 19th century, offer a glimpse into Brookfield's rich past, while the old farmhouse, once a tavern, adds a touch of nostalgia to the surroundings.

Named after a remarkable event witnessed by the son of the farm's owner, Happy Landings holds a special place in aviation history. In 1927, Steve Benya, inspired by the sight of Charles Lindbergh flying over the farm in the Spirit of St. Louis, pursued a career in aviation. This unique connection to a significant moment in flight history adds an intriguing dimension to the open space, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
