AIDS Project Hartford is a provider of direct-care and support services to people suffering from HIV and AIDS. It provides housing, case management, medical and nursing care and prevention services to people who are affected by and are at risk for HIV infection. Its Project SAM/H is a Ryan White Title 1 program that provides clinical support services to HIV patients and people who have a history of substance abuse and mental health problems. Its outreach and education programs provide HIV and AIDS-related materials and presentations to schools, businesses, communities and civic groups, such as educational workshops on risk reduction and special events to increase public awareness. The organization also provides peer and group support services, a needle exchange program and has an interfaith worship committee that offers spiritual support for people suffering from the disease. AIDS Project is located in Hartford, Conn.
