Canton Intermediate School

Avon Middle School is a part of the Avon Public Schools District, for students of grades seven to eight. Each grade has three academic terms, each team includes English, social studies, science and math. The school s curriculum is grounded in public academic standards for what students should know and be able to do, relevant to the concerns of adolescents and based on how students learn best. Avon Middle School involves parents and communities in supporting student learning and healthy development. Students attending Avon Middle School take two-class periods of unified arts. These classes include art, music, drama, academic enrichment, band, choir, strings, physical education, health, family and consumer science and technology education. Thompson Brook School is a part of Avon Public Schools and enrolls more than 500 students in grades five and six. Its facilities include a cafeteria, gymnasium, playground and computer laboratory. The school also features a library and media center that maintains a collection of educational software, reference materials, and fiction and nonfiction books. Thompson Brook School provides special education for students with special needs. Its general academic curriculum includes subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. Thompson Brook School also provides special programs in art, music, chorus and physical education. The school offers meals and medical care and guidance counseling services.
