The mission of The Housing Authority of the City of Bristol ( BHA ) is to "create opportunities for affordable housing in a suitable living environment and to promote self-sufficiency in our community". The Housing Authority of the City of Bristol is a quasi-independent agency that provides housing for low and moderate income families, elderly and non-elderly disabled. Our purpose is to provide quality housing units for our residents by rehabilitating or revitalizing our housing stock and by creating new opportunities for homeownership and affordable housing. We work diligently to find and provide resources necessary to improve the opportunities for success of our residents with programs fostering economic self sufficiency. It is also our objective to help end homelessness in our community by collaborating with local, State and Federal agencies. Bristol Adult Resource Center Inc. (BARC) has been committed to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Bristol, Connecticut, for over 65 years. The organization focuses on maximizing independence and fostering inclusion within the community through a variety of programs and services. BARC offers non-vocational programs, residential support, self-advocacy training, and opportunities for personal growth, including an art program showcasing original works by individuals.
