Bickford Convalescent Home

Rose Bickford founded Bickford Health Care Center in 1952. Based in Windsor Locks, Conn., it is a nonprofit corporation. The 48-bed Health Care Center has been providing care for its residents for more than 40 years. Its medical staff consists of four physicians and a staff who work with each resident individually. This includes nurses, certified nursing assistants, recreation therapist, social worker, physical therapists, occupational therapists and a speech pathologist. The Joint Commission on Accredititation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) approves Bickford Health Care Center. Its facilities include private rooms, dining with music, air conditioning, two relaxation and entertainment lounges, enclosed courtyard, cable television, in-house religious service and wheelchair accessibility.
