History

Bassdale Farm Dairy started in 1945 by John J. Bass and Walter E. Bass Sr., two brothers, operating dairy farm and home delivery service of milk products. Walter E. Bass Sr., owned the bottling plant and dairy operations. John J. Bass, his older brother owned cows and approximately 200+ acres of farm land on North Road. Sometime in mid-1960's as home delivery service was changing, business couldn't compete with grocery stores. Walter Sr., sold his milk routes to Borden. He then used the funds to build Bassdale Restaurant. It was a very successful venture and using restaurant as an anchor, he started to develop shopping plaza on North Road. Bassdale Plaza consists of a used dealership, two plaza building, one large foundation for possible third building, gas station/mini mart,(originally the milk processing plant).
