When looking for fine Asian cuisine that is made by genuine Vietnamese chefs, look no further than Bamboo Grill in Canton. The restaurant is owned and operated by a husband and wife, Ve and Dung, who emigrated from Vietnam in the '70s and have been operating Vietnamese restaurants around Connecticut since 1983. Bamboo Grill is Zagat rated, and has received attention from around the state since the mid-'90s. The restaurant is open only for dinner, seven days a week, but the owners also cater events and have a take-out menu.

This is a nice but small Vietnamese style restaurant. They allow you to BYOB drinks, which is a nice perk. However, the service was not at all attentive. I had to call out to get the servers...

Great, unpretentious place. Go for the food, not the bling. Spring rolls are fantastic. Soups are delicious. The pancake based dishes are wonderful. It's our regular place to go.
