Abilis is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been serving the special needs community in lower Fairfield County for over 70 years. With a reputation for high-quality care, Abilis provides a wide range of services and supports for over 800 individuals with special needs and their families from birth through the lifespan. From early intervention and customized therapies to recreational activities, job training, and residential options, Abilis works collaboratively with individuals, families, schools, and community organizations to create individualized plans that maximize inclusion and foster community participation.

Abilis is home to experts in therapeutic care, offering personalized therapies administered using best practices in their Therapy Center or in the environments chosen by the individuals. Their Life Services programs aim to enhance each person's quality of life through social activities, meaningful employment, and high-quality residential services. With their signature service, the Individual Life Plan, Abilis collaborates with families to assess needs, plan for the future, and create a personalized roadmap for anticipated therapeutic and life skills services. Additionally, Abilis offers a variety of social and recreational programs for children, teens, and adults, as well as opportunities for individuals to get involved through volunteering, donating, and becoming community partners.
