My commitment to making the legal system work for everyone predates my career as a lawyer. Prior to attending law school, I worked as a policy analyst at a leading Washington, D.C. think tank, studying the impact of changes to the welfare system on its recipients. While a student at Northwestern University School of Law, I helped low-income Chicagoans in danger of losing their homes to predatory lending practices. I also served as the school’s “public defender,” assisting fellow students who had been accused of honor code violations. In 2012, 2013, and 2014, Super Lawyers magazine named me a “Rising Star” in Colorado. The Rising Star award is given to only 2.5% of those eligible for consideration and recognizes exceptional attorneys who have attained a high degree of professional achievement. Since 2011, I have been a member of the Anti-Defamation League’s Mountain States Region Board of Directors. The ADL is a civil rights organization, whose mission is to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” As a board member, I make policy recommendations and publicly advocate for the ADL’s positions.
