History

Ralph Candelario began exploring the area surrounding his home in Huerfano County as a young boy. A wealth of history from the old mining camps around him peaked the interest of a curious youth. About the age of 12 he dug his first bottles and from this point on was enthralled with discovering treasures from the past. Wondering, who did it belong to? How old is it? Where did it come from? The imagination can take you traveling back in time, to faraway places and past generations. An avid hunger for researching the buried finds and learning everything he could tumbled over into a thirst for knowledge about all of the unique items that interested him as the years passed by. A passion for old cars and an appreciation for all things vintage and antique, especially hand-blown glass, old pottery and crocks, mining memorabilia, and local history laid the foundation for the possibility of a future antique shop

Some rooms have a theme such as the Oak Creek Mercantile with old general store merchandise including meat grinders, canning jars, crocks, tools, tins and wood stoves; Doc's Mercantile with civil war items such as powder horns, crates, medicine bottles, watches, and holsters; The Glass Room with hand blown glass, depression glassware, and art glass; The Navajo Room with authentic Navajo rugs and old pottery; The Automotive Room with vintage car parts, tires, signs, and old toy cars, trucks and trains; The Sea Room with shells, nets, rocks, driftwood, and decorative items that conjure up the ocean and the shore; The Birds Nest with an assortment of bird figurines and pretty things to make your own nest a haven; The Western Room with rustic furniture, horseshoe art, bottles, saddles and repurposed creations. Other rooms have an assortment of great antiques, collectibles and furniture like vintage radios, dressers, lamps, hoosiers, hats marbles, books, figurines, clocks, cast iron and so much more you will have to come and see
