Sugar Loaf Fire Protection District
The Sugar Loaf Fire Protection District (SLFPD) is located approximately 7 miles west of Boulder, Colorado, covering an area of 17 square miles with elevations ranging from 5,900 to 9,200 feet above sea level. The district serves nearly 600 homes and includes significant natural areas such as Boulder County Open Space and Arapahoe Roosevelt National Forest.
Operated by an all-volunteer department of approximately 45 members, the SLFPD responds to around 140 calls each year, addressing a variety of emergencies including structure fires, wildfires, and medical incidents.
