San Juan Basin Health Department

San Juan Basin Health Department has been providing health care solutions to the southwest Colorado community for more than 55 years. The department offers various immunization programs for children, adults, and international travelers, including hepatitis A and B, meningitis, polio, yellow fever, rabies, typhoid, and diphtheria. Its health care program for children with special needs offers services to children suffering from physical, developmental, behavioral and emotional disabilities. It provides services through neurological and rehabilitation clinics. Through its Lasso Tobacco Coalition, the department holds quarterly public meetings on tobacco prevention and education. It also organizes counseling and seminars for substance abuse prevention. Located in Durango, Colo., the department also issues birth and death certificates.
