This is the closest park service campground to Salida which makes it super sweet! I reserved site 21 online, which was like $28/night. However, if you just show up, other sites that are available...

Inconvenient, but serviceable. We had campsite 24 - which is close enough to hear the river, but not close enough to drown out the constant sound of cars passing on highway 50. The tent pad...

Salida east campground if you pick the correct spot is a very nice place to camp. We had a site right along the river which was very nice. We enjoyed our weekend.
