Rocky Mountain Budokan, formerly known as Mountain States Karate Association, was established in 1965 by Mr. Hideki Iwakabe, an accomplished martial artist holding an 8th Dan in Shotokan Karate, 5th Dan in Kendo, and 6th Dan in Iaido. As the first and oldest karate school in Englewood, Colorado, it also proudly stands as the first Kendo and Iaido school in the state, upholding traditional Japanese customs and formalities in all classes. The dojo offers a variety of classes in Shotokan Karate, Kendo, and Iaido, along with special programs throughout the year, such as summer camps and martial arts tournaments.
