Who is a candidate for regenerative orthopedics? Typical candidates are people seeking alternatives to mainstream orthopedic care. Many of our patients are told surgery is their only option. While surgery can be necessary, about 80-90% of what we treat doesn't require it. For example, someone with a ligament tear might be told to try rest, bracing, or steroid injections before considering surgery. However, regenerative orthopedics can often help them avoid surgery entirely by using the body's natural healing mechanisms. We frequently see patients with chronic, non-healing injuries or conditions like osteoarthritis who want to avoid or delay joint replacements.
