History
The Museum Society and the Rangely Museum began in Rangely's first school house which was built in 1913. The members of the Museum Society wanted to keep the local history alive through a physical presence (the exhibits) and the collection of oral histories.
Specialties
The Rangely Outdoor Museum preserves in historical buildings and exhibits the unique history of the Rangely area. There are three distinct categories: Pre-history & Native People, Pioneer & Ranching, and Energy Development.
