About the owners WW Feed & Supply is a family owned and operated business in La Junta, CO. Curt and Susan Russell purchased the store in July of 2000. The feed business has been here since the 1950's, but has had three or four owners in that time. In addition to WW Feed & Supply, Curt, Susan and sons own Reflected R Ranch, a producer of registered Simmental seedstock at Sugar City CO, just a few miles north of La Junta. Curt and Susan have been involved with agriculture for their entire lives. Both grew up on farm and cattle operations in Kansas and both graduated from Kansas State University. While at KSU, Curt worked at the university's Beef Research Center. After graduation, Curt went to work on the research farm of Land O' Lakes in in Duncombe IA, while Susan worked as an editor at the newspaper in Fort Dodge, IA. A couple of years later, we got the opportunity to move to to Fremont NE, a nice farm town in Eastern Nebraska near Omaha. Curt went to work as Assistant Manager of a 35, 000-head commercial cattle feedlot and Susan worked as the local newspaper's editor, and then at the state press association while taking master's degree classes. After two years, Curt was moved to the company's home office in Omaha, where he handled much of the marketing of both grain and cattle, as well as worked with the consulting nutritionist to make the most economical rations possible for the company's several feedlots. In 1991, with our first son on the way, we moved to a ranch near Sugar City, CO and Curt took over the management of a 40, 000-head feedlot at Ordway. After two years we decided to try ranching full time, but it was the wrong stage of the cattle cycle and Susan soon went to work as editor for the local agricultural newspaper and Curt took a job selling DTN's satellite information systems. In 1996, our second son was born and a year later, Curt had an opportunity to go to work as a feed company representative for Consolidated Nutrition, one of the forerunners of ADM Alliance Nutrition. Three years of intense experience with feed dealers and livestock producers of all kinds prepared the Russell's to purchase the business of Doyle and Viola Winters, one of Curt's customers at CN. Not only that, but he was darned tired of the inside of Western Kansas motel rooms! We've been working hard at WW Feed & Supply ever since to bring our customers the information and products they need. WW Feed & Supply is a full service livestock and pet feed and supply dealership. Our motto, If it eats, we can feed it, describes our mission. We want to supply feed and nutritional information for your animals, whether it's a truckload of cattle feed or a few pounds of ferret food. Our relationship with our primary feed suppliers, ADM Alliance Nutrition, Inc and Purina Mills Inc., gives us great access to a wide variety of feeds and expert nutritional advice. In combination with our in-house grind and mix feed mill, we can supply you with the feeds you need, custom designed to your specifications, in amounts large or small, either bulk or bagged, picked up at the store or delivered to your site.
