The Mayflower Gold Mill, located in Silverton, Colorado, is a National Historic Landmark and a remarkable piece of mining history. This complete processing mill offers visitors the opportunity to witness firsthand how miners were able to extract gold, silver, and base metals from hard rock ores using the latest industrial equipment of its time.

Constructed in 1929, the Mayflower Mill was the last and most advanced of the big mills to be built in the San Juan Mountains. With a 61-year milling career, it produced an impressive 1,940,100 ounces of gold, 30,000,000 ounces of silver, and 1,000,000 tons of combined base metals. Today, the mill is owned by the San Juan County Historical Society and is open for self-guided tours during the summer months.
