Dr. Elisa Melendez is a family medicine physician in Thornton. She moved from Chihuahua, Mexico to Colorado with her family when she was six years old. She received a bachelor's degree in biology from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado, after which she volunteered with AmeriCorps. Dr. Melendez later earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado.
