The Kauffman House Museum, operated by the Grand Lake Area Historical Society, is a historic log hotel in Grand Lake, Colorado. Built in 1892, it is the only remaining log hotel from the pre-1900 era in the area. The museum showcases the history of the Grand Lake community and offers changing exhibits in its gallery.

Operated entirely by volunteers, the museum provides docents and tour guides who share the rich history of the Grand Lake area with visitors from all over the world. With its inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places, the Kauffman House Museum stands as a testament to the early pioneers and the development of the mining, trapping, fishing, and tourism industries in Grand County, Colorado.

We were blown away. What a great little stop while visiting Grand Lake. The work they put into this location and the love they have for the history of Grand Lake was very apparent. Kathy...
