Grand County District Attorney

The Boulder District Attorney Office oversees an office of prosecutors and staff that serves the people of Boulder County, Colo. It maintains a consumer affairs division that enforces consumer protection statutes and assists consumers in resolving problems in the marketplace. The office supports an alcohol diversion program that offers information related to the dangers of substance abuse for first time offenders of underage alcohol possession and consumption. The Boulder District Attorney Office also provides victims with information on restitution payments from offenders, handles telephone inquiries, researches and tracks information on individual cases. It additionally maintains district court, investigations and juvenile prosecution divisions. The office is located in Boulder, Colo.

In 1972, residents of Jefferson County, Colo., established one of the nation's first open space programs, named Jefferson County Open Space. The organization was founded when the people of Jefferson County voted to tax themselves 0.5 percent on sales to fund planning, acquisition and maintenance of lands and waters for the enjoyment of current and future generations. Since then, with the support of Jefferson County residents, Jefferson County Open Space has been able to preserve, protect and maintain one of Colorado's most valuable assets: its rural land. The organization develops opportunities for outdoor recreation, education and conservation. The organization maintains parks and recreation areas throughout the county and is headquartered in Golden, Colo.
