Georgia Art Space
Georgia Art Space, founded by Sommer Browning, was a pop-up art venue nestled in the alley behind 952 Mariposa Street in Denver's La Alma Lincoln Park neighborhood. From 2017 to 2023, Georgia hosted a series of shows each summer, aiming to cultivate a unique blend of artists, musicians, writers, fabricators, and thinkers within a garage setting.
With a mission to blur traditional boundaries of space and purpose, Georgia Art Space provided a platform to unite creative minds for a temporary period. The venue's eclectic exhibitions, such as "Arm’s Length," "ELECTION DAY 2020," and "1000 Sam Elliott Dreams," showcased diverse artistic expressions and fostered a dynamic artistic community.
Although now closed, Georgia Art Space left a lasting impact on Denver's art scene, as highlighted in articles by The Denver Post and Westword. Sister to 1122 in Portland, Oregon, Georgia Art Space celebrated the collaborative spirit of artistry and expression, offering a vibrant space for engagement and creativity.
